Alfalfa Pellet Production Line Process and Equipment
The alfalfa pellet mill presses processed raw materials into pellets and serves as the core machine in the production line. However, if you plan to run continuous production, you will also need to configure upstream and downstream equipment based on the raw materials.
Raw Material Cleaning
Equipment: Drum Cleaning Screen / Permanent Magnet Cylinder
Remove stones, metal, and other impurities from the alfalfa to prepare the material for further processing.
Crushing
Equipment: Hammer Mill
Crush longer or larger pieces of alfalfa to a particle size suitable for pelleting.
Drying

If the raw material has excessive moisture, it needs to be dried first. This brings the material to a condition suitable for pelleting.
Pelletizing

This is an important question. Raw material type is also an important factor when selecting the equipment model. Generally, equipment capacity is negatively correlated with the proportion of alfalfa in the raw material. If the alfalfa content is higher, the equipment capacity is lower. The opposite also applies.

How often does the ring die of an alfalfa pellet mill need to be replaced?

The ring die of a RICHI alfalfa pellet equipment can normally last for more than 1,000 hours. However, the ring die is a main wearing part of the pellet mill. Its actual service life also depends on fiber characteristics, impurity content, production time, compression ratio, and operation and maintenance practices.
Therefore, we don’t recommend replacing the ring die simply according to a fixed schedule. During daily production, regularly check the wear of the die holes. Timely maintenance or replacement based on actual pelleting performance can help maintain stable equipment performance.
The machine has arrived. How do I install and operate it?

Don’t worry. Before shipment, we provide the necessary installation materials and operating instructions. During installation, RICHI engineers can also provide one-on-one online guidance and training. This helps your staff learn equipment installation, operation, and basic maintenance.
If the project requires on-site service, we can also arrange for engineers to visit the customer’s site for installation, commissioning, and operator training until the equipment is ready for normal production.
