Alfalfa Pellet Mill

Alfalfa Pellet Mill Overview
An alfalfa pellet mill is a biomass pellet machine that uses a heavy-duty ring die and rollers to compress and form pellets. It can process properly pretreated and dried alfalfa, grass, and other fibrous materials into pellets.
The machine uses stable forced feeding to continuously move lightweight, fibrous materials into the pelleting chamber. This helps keep the machine running steadily. The finished pellets can be used as biomass fuel or animal feed.
RICHI offers different models for small, medium, and large-scale alfalfa pellet production. If you operate a farm, biomass processing plant, or pellet fuel project, you can learn more about RICHI pellet mills designed for alfalfa and similar fibrous materials.
Capacity: 0.5-10 T/H
Power: 22-250 kW
Alfalfa Pellet Mill Design for Fibrous Materials
Alfalfa is lightweight and has a high fiber content. To maintain stable feeding and reliable pellet formation, the pellet mill needs to match these material characteristics.
Alfalfa Pellet Mill Raw Materials
The alfalfa pellet machine for sale is not limited to alfalfa. With the right compression ratio and formulation, it can also process various types of grass and crop straw.
For different raw materials, RICHI engineers can match suitable pelleting parameters based on fiber structure, moisture content, and forming characteristics. Some common materials that can be processed include:

▷Fresh Alfalfa
▶Alfalfa Stems & Leaves
▷Crushed Alfalfa
▶Alfalfa Hay
▷Alfalfa Bales
▶Alfalfa Powder
▷Teff Hay
▶Tall Fescue
▷Ryegrass
▶Grass Hay
▷Wheat Straw
▶Corn Straw
Alfalfa Pellet Mill Capacity and Model Selection Options
RICHI offers multiple models. You can select a suitable machine based on your target output, power, and pellet specifications. If a standard model cannot meet your project requirements, we can also adjust the equipment configuration according to your raw materials and production needs.

| CZLH768 | 6.0-8.0 | 250 | 762 | 4-12 |
Parameter Note: The parameters of the alfalfa pellet mill in the table are based on rated operating conditions tested on a complete production line and are for reference only. Actual data may vary with raw material characteristics, operating conditions, and equipment configuration. For the latest parameters, please consult RICHI engineers.
Alfalfa Pellet Mill Working Principle
The working process of an alfalfa pellet making machine is actually quite simple. Loose alfalfa enters the machine, then goes through compression, forming, and cutting to become uniform and firm pellets. The whole process runs continuously and smoothly, making operation easier.

FAQs About Alfalfa Pellet Mill
You may also have questions about equipment prices, model selection, installation, and after-sales service. Below are some common questions customers ask during the purchasing process.
How much does an alfalfa pellets machine cost? Does the price include freight?
→
A single machine starts at USD 7,500. The price of an alfalfa pellet mill for sale depends on the model, capacity, configuration, and whether a complete production line is required. The investment differs significantly between a single-machine project and a complete production line.
Our quotations are based on FOB prices and do not include ocean freight or other destination port charges. You can provide your target output and raw material information, and RICHI engineers will provide different quotation options based on your project requirements.
This is my first investment in an alfalfa pelletizer machine. I have enough raw materials but don’t know anything else. Can you help me?
→
Of course. If you already have a stable supply of alfalfa but aren’t sure about the required capacity, equipment configuration, or production line layout, you can tell us about your raw materials, finished product application, and expected output.
RICHI engineers can provide complete recommendations covering pellet size, equipment selection, raw material formulation, production process, and supporting equipment. We provide complete turnkey service, so you don’t need to figure everything out yourself. You only need to press the start button to begin pellet production.
I don’t use 100% alfalfa. I want to mix it with grains. How do I choose the right model?
→
This is an important question. Raw material type is also an important factor when selecting the equipment model. Generally, equipment capacity is negatively correlated with the proportion of alfalfa in the raw material. If the alfalfa content is higher, the equipment capacity is lower. The opposite also applies.
You can contact a RICHI engineer and provide the specific raw material types and proportions, along with your expected capacity. We can help you select a suitable machine.
How often does the ring die of an alfalfa pellet mill need to be replaced?
→
The ring die of a RICHI alfalfa pellet equipment can normally last for more than 1,000 hours. However, the ring die is a main wearing part of the pellet mill. Its actual service life also depends on fiber characteristics, impurity content, production time, compression ratio, and operation and maintenance practices.
Therefore, we don’t recommend replacing the ring die simply according to a fixed schedule. During daily production, regularly check the wear of the die holes. Timely maintenance or replacement based on actual pelleting performance can help maintain stable equipment performance.
The machine has arrived. How do I install and operate it?
→
Don’t worry. Before shipment, we provide the necessary installation materials and operating instructions. During installation, RICHI engineers can also provide one-on-one online guidance and training. This helps your staff learn equipment installation, operation, and basic maintenance.
If the project requires on-site service, we can also arrange for engineers to visit the customer’s site for installation, commissioning, and operator training until the equipment is ready for normal production.
What after-sales service does RICHI provide if the alfalfa pellet mill has a problem?
→
The complete machine comes with a 1-year warranty. After the warranty period, we only charge for spare parts during repairs. We also provide lifetime technical guidance.
Whether you have questions about equipment operation, routine maintenance, or technical issues during production, you can contact RICHI engineers for technical guidance. We hope our customers purchase more than just a machine, but a pelleting solution that can operate reliably over the long term.
