Wooden raw materials (sawdust, soft and hardwood): These materials have high density and long fibers, which cause great wear and tear on the machine. It is recommended to choose a ring-die granulator with high torque gear transmission and wear-resistant parts (such as RICHI MZLH series). It should be noted that the actual yield of this type of raw material is usually slightly lower than that of straw.

Straw and grass (alfalfa, wheat straw): This type of material is relatively fluffy and light in weight, and it is easy to cause bridging and blockage when feeding. It is recommended to choose a model equipped with a forced feeder and an arch-breaking feeder (such as the RICHI CZLH series).

Shell raw materials (rice husks, coffee husks): The surface is too smooth and difficult for the machine to grasp. When selecting, you need to select a machine with a knurled pressure roller and a high compression ratio ring die to prevent the pressure roller from slipping and idling.

The moisture content of raw materials: Most pellet machines require the moisture content of raw materials to be strictly controlled between 13% and 18% (15% is optimal). If the moisture content is too high, the particles will be loose and brittle; if the moisture content is too low, the friction energy consumption will increase and the machine will wear out faster. If the raw materials are naturally wet, drying equipment must be installed before granulation.

Transmission method: gear transmission is preferred within the budget. It is more stable than belt drive, has an extremely low failure rate, and is more suitable for long-term, high-load continuous industrial production.

Material of the mold and pressure roller: this is the vulnerable core of the machine. A high-quality ring die should be made of alloy steel and undergo vacuum heat treatment, which has a long wear-resistant life; the pressure roller is best made of alloy steel carburized, which has stronger grip and is less likely to slip.
