The RICHI CZLH series rice husk pellet mill is a ring die pellet mill designed for agricultural biomass materials. Besides rice husk, it can also pelletize materials such as rice bran and wood chips.

Production Line Design for Rice Husk Pellet Mill

Not every project needs the same equipment configuration. Instead, we select the process based on factors such as impurities, particle size, and moisture content.
Rice Husk Cleaning
Rice husk first goes through the cleaning stage before entering the production line. A cleaning screen removes stones, soil, and other unwanted materials, while a magnetic separator removes ferrous metal contaminants.
Cleaning the raw material in advance reduces equipment wear during operation. It also provides cleaner and more stable material for the pelletizing process.
Rice Husk Crushing
Depending on the raw material condition and pelletizing requirements, the cleaned rice husk enters a hammer mill. The screen specification can be selected according to the production requirements, allowing the discharge particle size to be adjusted.
RICHI hammer mills can produce a particle size of 0.5–20 mm. The screen can be selected based on the particle size required for the rice husk pelletizing process. Proper crushing makes the material more uniform, which supports stable feeding and pelletizing.
Rice Husk Drying
Whether a dryer is needed depends on the actual moisture content of the rice husk at the customer’s site. If the material already has suitable moisture for pelletizing, this step can be reduced or omitted. When the moisture content is too high, the rice husk needs to be dried first.
For projects that require drying, we can provide a rotary dryer to adjust the moisture content. It is suitable for fibrous and lumpy biomass materials such as rice husk and wood chips, helping maintain more consistent moisture before pelletizing.
Rice Husk Pelletizing
After cleaning, crushing, and necessary moisture adjustment, the rice husk enters the rice husk pellet mill for compression and forming.
During pelletizing, the forced feeder delivers the rice husk evenly into the pelletizing chamber. The material is then compressed between the ring die and rollers and cut into rice husk pellets.
For materials with a distinctive fiber structure like rice husk, stable feeding and a suitable pelletizing design both affect continuous operation and pellet formation.
Cooling & Screening
Fresh pellets leaving the pellet machine have a relatively high temperature and may contain some fines. Therefore, they should not go directly to the packaging stage.
First, the pellets enter a counterflow cooler. The finished pellet temperature is normally controlled to within 3–5°C above room temperature. After cooling, the pellets pass through a vibrating screen to remove fines and non-conforming pellets, improving the uniformity of the finished product.
Finished Product Packaging
Qualified rice husk pellets enter an automatic packaging scale. The system weighs and bags the pellets according to the preset weight.
RICHI can provide packaging solutions for 10–50 kg bags based on your sales and transportation requirements. The weighing accuracy can be controlled within ±0.2%. After packaging, the rice husk pellets are ready for storage or further transportation.

The equipment can produce pellets with a diameter of 4–12 mm. The right size depends on the final use, and we can select the ring die according to your requirements.
