straw pellet machine
RICHI straw pellet machine is designed for processing various straw, hay, and agricultural biomass materials. It produces biomass fuel pellets, organic fertilizer granules, and animal feed.

Straw Pellet Machine for Sale
The straw pellet machine compresses loose, fibrous agricultural waste into dense, uniform pellets. With proper pretreatment, the equipment handles wheat straw, corn stalk, rice straw, barley straw, and other crop residues.
After over thirty years of R&D and continuous upgrades, RICHI equips its straw pellet mills with high-wear-resistant alloy steel ring die and rollers, a variable-frequency forced feeder, and a gear transmission box. Key components use durable materials suited for continuous pelletizing operations. This helps the machine maintain stable, efficient performance when processing fibrous and abrasive biomass. Every unit meets CE and ISO standards.
You can provide your raw material characteristics, target output, pellet size, and end-use application. RICHI will design a suitable machine configuration based on your specific production needs.

How Does a Straw Pellet Machine Work?
This equipment uses mechanical compression and extrusion to process pretreated straw into dense pellets. The pelletizing process includes feeding, compression, extrusion, cutting, and discharging.
Material enters through a wide feed inlet with an anti-bridge device. A forced feeder sends it evenly into the pelletizing chamber. The ring die and rollers continuously compress the material and push it through the die holes. Adjustable knives cut the extruded material into pellets of the desired length before they discharge from the straw pellet machine. SKF bearings and Siemens motors support the key transmission parts, providing stable power and drive for continuous operation.

Straw Pellet Machine for Different Materials
We have configured the pelletizer specifically for different raw material characteristics. As a result, it adapts well to a wide range of feedstocks.

Machine à granulés de paille de blé
Wheat straw becomes particularly fluffy after grinding and tends to bridge and block the feed inlet. We have widened the feed opening and added an anti-bridge device with a variable-frequency forced feeder. The continuous pushing force solves feed interruptions and ensures stable material flow.

Machine à granulés de tiges de maïs
Corn stalks have long, elastic fibers that spring back significantly after grinding. Standard straw pellet presses struggle to compress them effectively. RICHI uses a forced feeding structure to push material continuously into the pelletizing chamber, combined with a high-compression-ratio ring die. The resulting pellets are dense and uniform.

Rice Straw Pellet Machine
Rice straw fibers are fine and light, requiring highly stable feeding. RICHI focuses on smooth, consistent operation. The variable-frequency drive precisely controls the feed speed, and the anti-bridge device prevents material buildup, ensuring uniform feeding into the chamber.

Cotton Stalk Pellet Machine
Cotton stalks are hard with a distinct stem structure. They demand high wear resistance and power from the components. RICHI equips the machine with high-wear-resistant alloy steel ring dies and rollers with a hardness of HRC50 or above. The gear drive, SKF bearings, and Siemens motors provide full power support. The straw pellet machine maintains stable operation even when processing hard raw materials.
Applications of Straw Pellet Making Machine
What type of pellets do you plan to produce with a straw pellet machine? After pelletizing, straw can be processed into biomass fuel pellets, animal feed, organic fertilizer, and animal bedding.

Global Straw Pellet Machine Cases
RICHI straw pelletizers are used in more than 140 countries worldwide. They serve projects in agricultural waste treatment, pellet fuel production, feed processing, and resource utilization.

Multiple Straw Pellet Machines Operating in Parallel in Russia
Background: A paper mill with access to large volumes of local agricultural straw wanted to set up a biomass fuel pellet project using available raw materials.
Matières premières : Locally sourced wheat straw, soybean straw, and corn stalks
Solution : RICHI provided a 4 t/h automated straw pellet production line. The system includes a grinder, two CZLH420 biomass pellet mills, screw conveyors, a counterflow cooler, a screener, and an automatic packaging scale. Installation took approximately 30 days.

Wheat Straw Pellet Machine Project in South Africa
Background: A local dairy and goat farm faced ongoing challenges with straw disposal and high feed costs. The farm decided to build its own straw feed production line.
Matières premières : Wheat straw, corn, and soybean meal
Equipment Solution: One CZLH350 straw feed pellet mill, with supporting equipment for grinding, dust collection, mixing, cooling, screening, and automatic packaging.
Final Product: 6–8 mm straw pellet feed

Small Scale Straw Pellet Machine Project in the UK
A straw processing company in eastern England wanted to develop the fuel and high-fiber feed markets. Based on our recommendation, the client did not build a large production line immediately. Instead, they started with one machine to test pelletizing performance and market demand for different local straws, reducing upfront investment risk.
Matières premières : Mainly baled wheat straw with a length of approximately 1–1.2 m, occasionally mixed with small amounts of barley straw, oat straw, and wood shavings
Modèle de l'équipement : MZLH320 wheat straw pellet mill
Final Products: Wheat straw fuel pellets and ruminant feed pellets

Commercial Straw Pellet Machine Project in Kazakhstan
The client operates a wood processing plant and mainly uses straw and woody materials, with woody materials coming primarily from landscaping waste. They wanted to enter the biomass fuel pellet market using their existing facility and biomass feedstock advantages.
Project Investment: Approximately USD 300,000
Solution : We designed a 3–4 t/h automated production line with a CZLH520 straw pellet mill. Installation took about 30 days.
Final Product: Biomass pellets with a diameter of approximately 10 mm and length of 20–40 mm

Straw Pellet Machine FAQs
If you are looking for information on straw pellet maker prices, equipment configuration, or after-sales service, the following questions will help you get started.
How much does your machine cost? Does the price include shipping?
→
Straw pellet production machine prices start at USD 10,000, depending on the model, capacity, configuration, and whether you need a complete production line. For example, a 0.3–2 t/h small production line typically costs between USD 30,000 and 60,000. Shipping is not included in these prices. You can tell us your raw materials, target capacity, and end-use application, and RICHI engineers will recommend suitable equipment and provide a quotation.
I run the machine about 16 hours a day. How often do the ring die and rollers need replacement?
→
There is no fixed replacement schedule. The type of straw, impurities in the raw material, daily operating hours, and handling practices all affect service life. Under normal operating conditions, the ring die and rollers typically last around 1,000 hours. We recommend regular inspections for wear and timely adjustments or replacements.
I purchase different types of straw on a regular basis. Can they all be processed using the same pellet mill?
→
Yes. The CZLH series machine à granulés de biomasse adapts to various straw materials. However, different types of straw have different fiber structures, hardness levels, and moisture content. In actual production, you can adjust parameters such as the ring die and feed speed based on the raw material type.
Can the straw pellet mill for sale be customized to meet my production needs?
→
Yes. In addition to choosing from different models, you can adjust the equipment configuration based on raw material characteristics, target capacity, pellet size, and production purpose. For example, if you want to produce animal feed pellets, we can equip the machine with a conditioner. If standard models do not fully meet your requirements, RICHI also offers custom solutions.
