Complete Process Flow of a Goat Feed Pellet Production Line
Goat feed usually contains grains, forage, protein ingredients, and other additives. A goat feed pellet making machine can serve as the core equipment in a complete production line, which may include cleaning, grinding, batching, mixing, pelletizing, cooling, screening, and packaging equipment.
Raw Material Receiving and Cleaning
Raw materials first pass through cleaning equipment to remove stones, metal, and other impurities. This reduces wear on grinders, pellet machines, and other downstream equipment. It also provides cleaner and more consistent material for further processing.
Grinding
Grains such as corn and wheat usually need to be ground before mixing and pelletizing. A particle size of around 3–5 mm is commonly used.
For fibrous materials such as alfalfa and hay, the equipment depends on the material form and fiber length. Options include a forage grinder, round bale breaker, or straw crusher.
Batching and Mixing
After grinding, the ingredients are accurately batched according to the feed formulation and sent to the mixer. Thorough mixing distributes grains, protein ingredients, forage, and additives throughout the feed mixture.
When the formulation contains a high proportion of forage, drying or moisture adjustment may also be required before batching. The material moisture content can usually be controlled at around 15%, although the suitable level depends on the raw material and pelletizing requirements.
Conditioning and Pelletizing
The mixed material enters the conditioner of the SZLH goat feed pellet making machine and comes into contact with steam. It absorbs moisture and softens before entering the pelletizing chamber.
Inside the chamber, the ring die and rollers compress and form the material. Cutting knives then divide the formed strands into cylindrical pellets of the required length.
Cooling and Screening
Fresh pellets leave the pelletizing machine with relatively high temperature and moisture content. A counterflow cooler lowers the temperature and helps stabilize the pellet structure.
After cooling, the pellets pass through screening equipment to separate fines and undersized or unqualified pellets. Qualified pellets then move to the finished product section.
Packaging
Finished pellets can be automatically weighed and packed according to sales and transportation requirements. Packaging equipment can be configured according to your packaging method and production capacity. Common package sizes range from 10–50 kg.
